HIGHLIGHTS OF BRAHMA KUMARIS SERVICES IN DELHI
Delhi has always been the focal point of national level and international services organised by the Brahma Kumaris. Some of the salient services done since the Brahma Kumaris came to Delhi are listed below chronologically.
1953: First Brahma Kumaris Service Centre opened at 151-E, Kamla Nagar, Delhi.
1965: First Spiritual Exhibition held in Constitution Club, New Delhi.
1972: World Renewal Spiritual Festival with all India participation held at Ram Lila Grounds, Delhi.
1981: World Welfare Festival with international participation held at Red Fort Grounds, Delhi. Inaugurated by Mr. Balram Jhakhar, Speaker, Lok Sabha.
1986: Finale of All India Pad Yatra held at Boat Club, New Delhi.
1987: Organised visits of the President and the Vice President of India to Mount Abu.
1994: Commemorative Postage Stamp of Prajapita Brahma issued by Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Govt. of India.
1995: All India Finale of Sharing our Values for a Better world project at Sirifort Auditorium by Brahma Kumaris in October 1995 in the wake of 50th anniversary of United Nations.
1996: Launching of Brahma Kumaris Diamond Jubilee celebrations by Dr. S.D. Sharma, President of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi in February.
1997: Finale of Brahma Kumaris Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi in February. It was presided over by Dr. S.D. Sharma, President of India, Mr. H.D. Deve Gowda, Prime Minister of India, Mr. Tejendra Khanna, Lt. Governor of Delhi, Mr. Saheb Singh Verma, Chief Minister of Delhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, M.P. and former Union Minister.
