About Us
Mighty oaks from little acorns grow… In 1936 a small seed was planted in Sindh that has grown into a huge tree with 8,500 branches spanning 130 countries. The Brahma Kumaris is a global spiritual organisation that has been quietly spearheading a new spiritual awakening in the world. For over seven decades the organisation has been sharing a deeper understanding of spiritual truths and enabled millions of people around the world to experience values like peace, purity, love and joy in their lives.
By recognising the core values inherent in each human being, the Brahma Kumaris have been nurturing them by imparting the knowledge and experience of spiritual principles and Rajyoga meditation.
The key focus areas of the organisation are:
- Sharing a clear understanding and experience of the nature of soul, God, time and other spiritual truths
- Experiencing a close relationship with the Almighty Supreme Father through Rajyoga meditation
- Practising divine virtues and highest codes of conduct in worldly life
- Serving others through sharing of spiritual wisdom and values to help create a better world.
Some of the unique features of this spiritual organisation are:
- Exemplifying the fact that when we change the world changes, its regular members practise spiritual principles and a lifestyle that sustains positive change in self awareness, attitudes, actions and relationships.
- It is a truly one-of-its-kind global spiritual family that connects a wide cross-section of socio-economic and cultural groups by methodically practising soul consciousness.
- A model of lifelong learning where daily spiritual study and meditation form the base for sustained individual progress. ‘Traffic control’ – 2-3 minutes of inner silence – is practised at regular intervals throughout the day to create peace in a hectic lifestyle.
- It is the world’s largest spiritual movement led by women
- An awesome global network with active involvement in local community development by sharing of human and social values in all sections of society.
