HISTORY

When a few young sisters clad in white came to Delhi from Mount Abu in the early 1950s nobody could have imagined the mission they were to embark on. Not even the sisters.

They were spiritual messengers who had come to the national capital to share Godly wisdom with the humanity. It was a momentous event for it opened the flood gates for the ocean of God’s wisdom to flow and nourish millions of spiritually thirsty people in the capital, country and the world.

They were among the founding members of Brahma Kumaris who had undergone intense training in Rajyoga and experienced profound spiritual truths revealed by the incorporeal God Shiva through the human medium of Prajapita Brahma.                     (BKs Worldwide/History)

As a result of the selfless service and dedication of those sisters the first Brahma Kumaris Service Centre opened in 1953 at 151-E, Kamla Nagar, Delhi. It was the first centre of the institution outside Mount Abu, where its global headquarters are based.

Over the years Brahma Kumaris in Delhi have crossed many milestones in their glorious journey of spiritual service since the early 1950’s. (Major Events)

Today there are more than 130 Rajyoga centres of Brahma Kumaris in Delhi and its surrounding areas that serve local families and communities by offering courses in spirituality, meditation and value-based life skills for health, education, management and self development.

The Brahma Kumaris’ best offering to the people of Delhi is the Om Shanti Retreat Centre, located 60 km from Delhi, in Gurgaon.
